After a well received first outing, the Northern Ireland Energy Summit is back and will be held at the International Convention Centre in Belfast on September 24th. The Summit looks at how businesses and organisations can facilitate the transition to a cleaner, greener energy grid that will benefit consumers, businesses and the climate.
The various Partners that hook up for this important Summit include Capita, NIE Networks, NI Gas Network Operators, SONI and Transmission Investment.
Green Energy Is The Future

Green energy is the future and every business will have to embrace the new technologies sooner rather than later, so it is in everyone’s interests to get ahead of the curve and benefit from the new opportunities that are now in front of us.
The Summit will particularly look at how Northern Ireland can work in tandem with the rest of the UK, as well as Ireland and Europe as a whole, in a bid to create viable energy systems that will address the climate change crisis that is enveloping the planet.
Exploring Shared Challenges And Identifying Opportunities In Energy
Professor David Rooney, academic director of CASE and Dean of Internationalisation and Reputation within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, is quoted in an article in the Belfast Newsletter saying:
“The inaugural Northern Ireland Energy Summit in 2023 was a powerful demonstration of coming together to explore shared challenges and identify opportunities in energy.
“In 2025, we want to build on that momentum. Our focus must now turn to how we energise our economy by embracing cleaner, smarter energy systems and solutions that benefit everyone in society.
“This means working together – government, business and academia – to harness innovation, unlock investment and ensure we work together towards our climate and net-zero ambitions.
“It is only through such joined-up thinking and collaborative action, coupled with a whole-of-government approach, that we can create a more prosperous economic future for Northern Ireland.”
It is vital that as a nation, Northern Ireland is one of the first movers to transition to cleaner, greener energy across the board. The opportunities in jobs and services are there for all to see and it can help to drive economic growth for future years. It will be interesting to see how the Northern Ireland Energy Summit goes down this year and what plans are formulated for the future. It could be one of the most important conventions of the year.
